Gombe Govt to host maiden investment summit in Oct- Dep Gov
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, on Thursday said all was set for the state to host its first investment summit in October.
Jatau confirmed this in Gombe during a press conference on the level of the state’s preparedness for the first investment summit in the state.
Ahead of the summit, he said that the Gombe State Government had received no fewer than 269 applications from potential investors willing to participate in the summit.
He stated that the summit, themed: ‘Industrialisation: The Pathway to Innovation, Transformation and Development of Gombe State’ is scheduled to hold between Oct. 11 and 12.
He stated that more investors were expected in the state as the government had put in measures to make the state conducive for them.
The deputy governor, who is also the Chairman Steering Committee of Gombe Investment (Go-Invest) Summit said it was was to ensure economic prosperity for the state.
According to him, 269 applications have been received from potential investors from within and outside the state to operate at the industrial park.
Giving the breakdown of the application, Jatau said 50 of the applications were for the manufacturing sector, eight for food and beverages and 211 for agro-allied and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
He said the summit was aimed at bringing investors from all walks of life from within and outside the country to partner with the state government toward the industrialisation of the state.
Jatau said that during the summit, the state government would showcase the potentials of the state in all sectors to investors.
According to him, the state has arable land for agriculture, a functional livestock sub-sector and three dams to support agriculture and its value chain, amongst others.
