Gombe: PDP, APC share National Assembly seats
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of the Akko and Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituencies and senatorial seats in Gombe State.
The results released by INEC show All progressives Congress APC and People’s Democratic Party PDP share the seats.
The Former governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo won the Gombe Central North Senatorial District, defeating the incumbent Alhaji Saidu Alkali of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our Correspondent reports that Gombe North consists of five Local Government areas, namely, Gombe, Kwami, Dukku, Funakaye and Nafada.
Prof. Umaru Gurama, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Administration Federal University of Kashere (FUK ) and Returning Officer of Gombe North announced the result on Monday in the Malamsidi headquarters of Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe.
He said that Dankwambo polled 143155 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alkali of the APC, who scored votes 77,948.

”Having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest votes, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.
He said 239,339 voters were accredited but 237,116 voted.
The Returning Officer (RO) said 8,566 votes were rejected.
Dankwambo contested the 2019 elections but was defeated by Alkali.
Also, Mr Anthony Siyako of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the Gombe South Senatorial election.
The Returning Officer, Prof Saleh Abdu, who declared the result on Sunday in Kaltungo, said that Siyako polled 97, 956 votes to defeat his closest rival, Joshua Lidani of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a former deputy who polled 36, 879.
While Albashi Abigail of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 1551 votes.
Abdu said, “ Anthony Siyako of the PDP having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared and is returned elected.”
For the House of Representatives election in Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency, the incumbent Simon Karu of APC was defeated by Obed Shehu of the PDP.
Announcing the result in Kaltungo, Prof Muhammad Saidu, who served as returning officer said, “PDP polled 35,366, to defeat APC 22,983
Mr Usman Bello-Kumo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Akko Federal Constituency election in Gombe State.
INEC Returning Officer, Mr Mu’azu Mohammed, who declared the result on Sunday in Kumo community, said that Bello-Kumo polled 42, 902 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aishatu Muhammad of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 37, 391 votes.
Also, Kawuwa Barambu of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) polled 1,044 votes.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Ali Isa of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner in the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency election.
The Returning Officer, Mr Bayu Farouk said that Ali scored 46,146 votes to floor the incumbent, APC’s Victor Mela who garnered 28,251 votes.
He said that Ms Joy Godobe of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 2,205 votes.
Reacting to the development, Ali said his victory was an opportunity to serve the people through good representation.
He commended INEC for improving on previous elections, adding that, the “Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS) proved that a common man has a say in governance.”
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr
Danjuma Goje has won the Gombe Central Senatorial election.
The Returning Officer, Prof Mustapha Muhammad, who declared the result on Sunday in Kumo, said that Goje polled 102, 916 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aliyu Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 37, 870 votes.
Bibikir Muhammad of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) polled 1,155 votes.
Goje is the incumbent senator representing the Gombe Central senatorial district and a two-time governor of the state.

Announcing the result in the Kumo community, Mr Mu’azu Mohammed, the returning officer for Akko Federal Constituency declared Usman Bello-Kumo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election and returned elected.
Mohammed said Bello-Kumo polled 42, 902 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aishatu Muhammad of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 37, 391 votes.
Also, Kawuwa Barambu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 1044 votes.
In Billiri, Mr Bayu Farouk, the returning officer of Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency declared Mr Ali Isa of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election in the Constituency having polled 46, 146 votes.
Victor Mela of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is the current lawmaker representing the Constituency, polled 28,251 votes to emerge first runner-up.
Joy Godobe of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 2205 votes.
Reacting to the result, Isa Ali said his victory was an opportunity to serve the people through good representation.
Ali commended INEC for improving on previous elections, adding that with Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS), it had “proven that a common man has a say in governance.”
