Gov. Zulum flags off 2022/23 school enrollment exercise
Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has flagged off the 2022/23 school enrollment exercise in Manguno Town with about seven thousand primary school-aged and out-of-school children registering on the first day.
This is in line with his determined effort to bridge the education gap occasioned by the Boko Haram insurgency in the state.
The programme is for children between six to thirteen years of primary and junior secondary school who will be placed on activating mega schools in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The children were drawn from Kukawa, Manguno, Guzamala, and Marte Local Government Areas taking refuge as internally displaced persons in Manguno Town.
Some of the children dropped out of school as a result of the Boko Haram crisis in their communities.
While addressing the people, the governor thanked them for their large turnout to present the children for enrollment, assuring them of automatic scholarships to enable them to have a quality education and a better future.
