Kadafur inaugurates 4 boards, 11 others for Borno service delivery
The Acting Governor of Borno State, Umar Kadafur, has inaugurated chairmen and members of 13 commissions, boards, and agencies for service deliveries to the people in the state.
According to him, the chairmen and members of two corporations were also sworn in to implement government policies and programmes.
Inaugurating the chairmen and members yesterday (Thursday), in Maiduguri, Kadafur disclosed: “Today’s event marks a watershed in the annals of the history of the state by swearing in the chairman and members of the Borno State House of Assembly Service Commission (BHASC).”
Citing the Borno State Geographic Information Service (BOGIS), he said the agency is engaged in land administration and the collection of land title holding fees to boost internally generated revenues (IGR).
Kadafur, therefore, congratulated members of the boards, commissions, agencies, and corporations for passing the integrity test for their appointments.
He also charged them to apply their wealth of experience and integrity while delivering the various services to the people.
“You must be accountable and transparent in the management of the limited resources entrusted to you,” noting that this will ensure the prompt delivery of the dividends of democracy through good governance.
The Acting Governor, however, warned against prejudice based on political affiliations, gender, religious beliefs, and ethnicity.
According to him, the Zulum administration has zero tolerance for corruption, including nepotism and any form of indiscipline, while discharging their duties.
Kadafur tasked the members of the boards and agencies to demonstrate the expected traits of good governance at the grassroots.
“These are the means of justifying the confidence reposed in the chairmen and members of the boards and agencies,” he said, as the government has provided the tools and resources for the execution of projects and programmes.
