He emphasized the importance of intelligence-led operations in effectively neutralizing terrorist threats and protecting vulnerable communities.
The decision to conduct the strikes was based on credible intelligence that revealed the presence of a notorious terrorist leader known as Boderi and his followers in Tsauni Doka. In the early hours of November 16, 2023, NAF aircraft launched devastating air strikes on the location, resulting in significant losses for the terrorists. Additionally, successful strikes were also executed approximately 500 meters east of Boderi’s hideout, believed to be the whereabouts of his brother, Nasiru. The strikes effectively neutralized a considerable number of terrorists and destroyed their motorcycles.
Boderi and his brother Nasiru, along with their accomplices, have been held responsible for a series of attacks and abductions along major routes such as the Abuja-Kaduna expressway and the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road. Numerous communities in Niger and Kaduna States have also been targeted by their criminal activities.
The recent success of Operation Whirl Punch marks another significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region. The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the country’s citizens, working in close collaboration with other security agencies to tackle the menace of terrorism.
The Nigerian Air Force continues to demonstrate its capability and determination to confront and eliminate terrorist elements that pose a threat to the nation’s peace and stability. With the success of the recent air strikes in Kaduna, Operation Whirl Punch has undoubtedly dealt a severe blow to the activities of Boderi and his associates.
As the fight against terrorism in Nigeria persists, the nation remains resolute in its commitment to eradicating this menace and creating a secure environment for all its citizens.
