NAF Airstrikes Neutralize Bandits in Shiroro, Niger State.
By Lawrence Bilal Audu
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully neutralized scores of bandits and dismantled their logistics base at Alawa Forest in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. This daring operation, conducted on 21 January 2025, was the culmination of credible intelligence and meticulous aerial surveillance efforts.
The bandits, linked to widespread violence and two devastating Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks on 19 December 2024, had been terrorizing innocent communities in the region. The NAF’s swift response, code-named KONAN DAJI, was a three-day sustained air operation aimed at degrading the terrorists’ capabilities and rendering the forest uninhabitable for them.
With precision strikes, the NAF’s fighter aircraft neutralized numerous armed fighters and destroyed their logistics base, confirmed by multiple secondary explosions. This bold operation demonstrates the NAF’s unwavering commitment to maintaining operational dominance across the region.
The Nigerian Air Force, in close coordination with ground forces, remains resolute in its pursuit of lasting peace and security for communities in Niger State and beyond. Sustained efforts are underway to eliminate all criminal elements from Alawa Forest and surrounding areas, restoring hope for a safer, more secure future.
As the NAF continues to intensify its counter-terrorism campaign, the people of Niger State and the nation at large can take heart in knowing that their security forces are working tirelessly to protect them from the scourge of terrorism.
