NG-CARES: Gombe State begins presentation of cheques to beneficiaries
Gombe State has launched the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme with presentation of first tranche of cheques to 30 communities and women groups across the state.
This is contained in a press statement signed by Mrs Comfort Mukollo, Public Relations Officer CSDA and made available to newsmen in Gombe on Wednesday.
Speaking at the launch, the General Manager Gombe State Agency for Community and Social Development (CSDA) Mallam Haruna Ahmed Imam commended the State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the prompt release of funds for the execution of the NG-CARES program in the state.

Imam said the state was already in the second phase of the programme, a development he attributed to Gov. Yahaya-led administration’s commitment to the improvement of the wellbeing of citizens of the state.
He said that Yahaya had supported the CSDA and other NG-CARES platforms of the state to implement their activities.
The general manager said work had begun in all the communities in their various areas of needs which include primary health care centres, classroom blocks, boreholes and nutrition interventions.
The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme is a federal government intervention supported by World Bank and is intended to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on the poor and vulnerable, which the state further domesticated the programme to Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus(GO-CARES).
