Nigerian Air Force Reaffirms Commitment to National Security
By Lawrence Bilal Audu
Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), has reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) unwavering dedication to national security. Speaking at the NAF Administration and Personnel Management Seminar in Abuja, Air Marshal Abubakar vowed that the NAF will relentlessly pursue and eliminate all threats to Nigeria’s peace.
The CAS emphasized that the effective employment of airpower will extend the long arm of the law, bringing justice to criminals hiding in ungoverned spaces. He also highlighted the importance of sound administration and personnel management in achieving military success.
Under Air Marshal Abubakar’s leadership, the NAF has undergone significant expansion. To support this growth, the NAF is investing in modernized Human Resource Management (HRM), digitalized record-keeping, and enhanced training programs.
The CAS noted that over 2,972 personnel have benefited from new or renovated housing, demonstrating the NAF’s commitment to personnel welfare. Additionally, 601 personnel of the Admin branch have undergone specialized training at the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management (NAFIAM).
The 2-day seminar, themed “Optimizing Contemporary Human Resource Techniques to Enhance Ongoing Transformation Initiatives of the NAF,” aims to provide actionable strategies to refine NAF HRM practices. The event has brought together distinguished participants, including the Director General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria and the President and Registrar of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
As the seminar unfolds, the NAF is expected to emerge with a highly skilled and motivated workforce, poised to tackle the evolving security landscape and ensure Nigeria’s safety and security.
