Nigerian Army begins training for inter-agencies synergy in Bauchi
The 3rd Armoured Division Headquarters, Nigerian Army, Jos commenced a five-day training exercise for the 2022 inter-agencies synergy on Tuesday in Bauchi.
Speaking during the inauguration, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the division, said the exercise was to bring enduring peace among the personnel.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exercise is being hosted by the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Shadawanka Barracks in Bauchi.
Ali, who was represented by Brig. Gen John Adeyemo, the Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, urged the participants to use the training to reinforce inter agencies’ efforts towards preserving the country.
Ali explained that the exercise was to meet the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Farouk Yahaya’s vision for the personnel in the country.
“The exercise is to have a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria,” he said
According to the GOC, the exercise is packaged to enable the sharing of operational experiences among officers of the military and sister agencies for professional competence.
“This will address the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria, as well as strengthen inter agencies’ cooperation and synergy,” he said.
M Ali said, apart from military personnel under the 3 Division, participants were drawn from the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
Others are the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Media. (NAN)
