PDP Crisis: Atiku in Delima over decision on Wike’s G-5
The Peoples’ Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has faced a series of controversies since his victory at the party primary in June.
This has generated many conversations in the public space over the readiness of the major opposition party to challenge All Progressives Congress and its Candidate in the 2023 election.
Ournigerianews reports that Atiku is facing pressure from the party hierarchy to consider reconciling with Governor Nyesom Wike and his supporting governors.
It is no news that Governor Wike of Rivers state, Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu comprise the five governors who have vowed not to support Atiku if he does not change the leadership of the party.
There is no doubt that Atiku Abubakar’s fate is in his hands, and he alone can fix the lingering crisis within the party; his decision will either make or mar his ambition to succeed Buhari.
