Police arrest 3 suspects for burglary, theft in Maiduguri

Borno State Police Command, has arrested three suspects for burglary and theft of 19 sewing machines at the Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition (DKSA) centre, Maiduguri.
According to the command, a security guard of the Centre, Kaka Modu Mustapha (34) conspired with two other suspects in carting away the sewing machine heads at 2:00 pm on March 22, 2025.
The Command’s Spokesman, SP Nahum Kenneth Daso, in a statement on Thursday, in Maiduguri, stated, “One Kaka Modu Mustapha at 2:00pm last Saturday, conspired with Bukar Mustapha (16) and Ibrahim Mohammed (17) in stealing 19 sewing machine heads at the skills acquisition centre of Dala Lawanti in Maiduguri metropolis.”
Additionally, he said upon receiving the burglary complaint, the Divisional Police Officer in Bulumkutu community along with his team, promptly launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of three suspects, including the security guard, Modu Mustapha.
He added that the police also recovered six out of the 19 stolen sewing machine heads from the suspects. Daso noted that; as the burglary case is being investigated, the police efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining 13 sewing machine heads.
Daso, therefore, urged the public to always remain vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities in the various communities of Borno state.
