UAE President Confirms 2025 Visit to Nigeria After Bilateral Talks
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has accepted an invitation from President Bola Tinubu to visit Nigeria later this year.
The invitation was extended during bilateral talks on Wednesday, held on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as a guest of the UAE leader, participated in the sustainability event and presented Nigeria’s position on climate challenges. He also congratulated Sheikh Mohamed on the success of the event.
During their discussions, the UAE President expressed his country’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Nigeria. The two leaders explored avenues to attract investment into Nigeria, focusing on areas of mutual benefit.
President Tinubu highlighted his administration’s economic reforms, which he said have stabilized and grown the Nigerian economy. He noted that these reforms have restored investor confidence, with international oil companies and other foreign investors announcing billion-dollar investments in Nigeria.
The Nigerian leader also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality he and his delegation received during their visit.
