1500 unemploy youth benefits from FG N-knowledge programme in North-East

Not less than 1500 youth benefits from the Federal Government (FG) N-Knowledge empowerment programme in North-East.
Our correspondent reports that FG N-Knowledge is a component of the N-Power Programme under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development that will upskill 20,000 young Nigerians.

Focusing on equipping young Nigerians with relevant skills on creative arts, script writing, computer hardware and certification to become competent workers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
Hajiya Sa’adiya Farouk, Minister of the Ministry disclosed this at the end of the training and distribution of starter parks to the beneficiaries on Wednesday in Bauchi.
She said the programme is part of FG efforts to reduce unemployment among the youth, adding that the programme trained, certificated and equipped 1500 beneficiaries in the North-East subregion out of the over 20000 to benefit nationwide.
Represented by Deputy Director in the Ministry, Alhaji Gidado Abubakar, assured that FG is committed to empowering the youths and other vulnerable Nigerians in order to bring them out of poverty and become employers of labor.
She added that all the participants in the training who successfully completed the course are expected to set themselves up with the starter packs given to them as well as the token amount considering the economic situation in the country.
“The beneficiaries were drawn from the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states.
“Were trained for 3 months in three clusters of creative arts (animation), computer hardware (repairs and installation, fixing of Android phones) and script writing,” he said.
Farouk charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the knowledge acquired during the period of the training.
On his part, Malam Umar Tofa a consultant of hardware cluster of the programme explained that the training acquired by the beneficiaries would enable them to handle installation, repairs, services computer and android related devices anywhere in the country.
Tofa advised the beneficiaries to take the business seriously, engage other unemployed youths in their various areas in order to grow their businesses.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Raliya Idris from Bauchi said the training received for three months impacted much to their knowledge and skills with a pledge to make good use of it and also be employers of labor.
She commended the FG initiative for the empowerment programme of taking away unemployed youth off the street to be self-reliant.
