The prosecutor, Insp. Abdul Wada had told the court that Idris of Fagge Quarters reported the matter at the Fagge Police Division in Kano on March 11.
Wada said that at about 8:30 p.m. the same day the defendant had a misunderstanding with the complainant.
In the process, he allegedly used a knife to inflict serious injury on the complainant’s laps.
According to the prosecutor, the offense contravenes Sections 158 and 240 of the Sharia Penal Code Law.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge later adjourned the matter to April 25 for mention.NAN
