2022 Budget: Gombe Govt Proposes N154.6bn

Gombe State Government has proposed the sum of N154,610,614,000 as its budget for the 2022 fiscal year.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, while presenting the budget proposal to the State House of Assembly on Thursday, said the budget was made up of N69,117,214,000 for recurrent expenditure and N85,493,400,000 for capital expenditure.
According to him, the budget is envisaged to be financed by an estimated recurrent revenue of N73,626,789,000 and capital receipts of N79,865,000,000, and an estimated closing balance of N4,881,175,000.
“Our administration developed and launched the first Gombe State 10-year development plan (DEVAGOM). The 2022 budget draws heavily on the aspirations of this Development Agenda around its five strategic pillars, namely Governance and Administration, Social Development, Economic Development, Infrastructural Development, and Sustainable Environment,” said Gov. Yahaya.
The Governor added that to continue with the transformational strategic thrust for the state as contained in the plan, the focus for the 2022 budget will include efforts towards increasing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita; high-quality healthcare system including food and nutrition security; promoting the role of women in development and Protecting culture, heritage, and shared values.
He said the budget is tagged “Budget of Consolidation” because his administration intends to consolidate on gains made over the past two and a half years in serving the people of the state.
