The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Bauchi state chapter has expressed concern over delays in funds release for the state contingents to participate in the 2022 National sports festival in Asaba in Delta State.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mal Mamud Yakubu Muhammad, Chairman of the Association, made available on Tuesday in Bauchi.
He called on the state Government to hasten the release of funds to the state sports council to facilitate the participation of the state’s contingents in the 2022 National sports festival in Asaba, Delta state.

He said the association was disturbed and appealed to all stakeholders to do the needful and ensure that the state contingents depart Bauchi for Asaba on Wednesday, 30th November.
“The implication is a late arrival to the festival will adversely affect the performance of the state,
“While on the other hand, non-participation, will attract sanctions and fine on the state,” Muhammad said
He explained that with the opening ceremony slated for today (Wednesday 30th), Bauchi state contingents are yet to depart Bauchi for Asaba for the national sports fiesta.
The Chairman noted that some states in the northeast have arrived in Asaba, while others are on their way and Bauchi contingent faith hangs on a balance.
