2023: Femi Adesina reveals Buhari has preferred candidate

Chief Media Aide to President Buhari, Femi Adesina has revealed that President Buhari has a preferred candidate for the 2023 presidential elections.
Appearing on Channels TV’s Politics on Friday, Adesina disclosed that the President has a ‘favourite’ candidate.

In his words; “In a previous interview when the president was asked whether he had a favourite candidate, he answered yes; but he will not mention him because mischief may happen to that person.”
“That shows you that the president himself is interested in the process and he has a preferred candidate, but whether he will impose his candidate is what you cannot determine at the moment.”
As earlier reported, 10 ministers in the President’s cabinet have resigned to contest for the exalted position.
Prominent among them are Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister for Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, Minister for Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu and Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba.
