2023: Say no to ethnoreligious sentiments, Vote for good leaders – Olowu of Owu-Kuta
The paramount ruler of the Kuta Kingdom HRH Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama, Tegbodun III has urged Nigerians to vote wisely and elect a good leader in the 2023 Elections.
The vice chairman, of the Osun State Council of Traditional Chiefs, made the remarks in an exclusive interview with OURNIGERIANEWS in his palace.
The Monarch said despite the quest for good leaders, Nigerians need to show it through their actions in the pool.
“My take on the 2023 general elections is in two ways. First, I want God to give us good leaders but God will not just give us good leaders like that. We need to use our actions to show that we need good leaders. So my message to Nigerians is to vote wisely. They should not sell their votes but vote according to their conscience.

The royal father advised Nigerians to stop putting unnecessary emphasis on ethnoreligious sentiments and focus on issues.
He said, “How I wish we will stop talking about individuals and talk about issues. I still believe that the two-party system is the best for Nigeria. I advise Nigerians not to vote based on religion and ethnicity. God knows why He made this country a pluralistic one.”
Oba Hameed Adekunle also enjoined politicians to be circumspect in their campaign promises.
“As for the politicians, I want to admonish them not to promise what they cannot deliver. People should shun violence and allow the system to function well. I am wishing Nigeria a peaceful election and I pray that Nigeria will continue to remain one, single, united country,” said the monarch.
