2023: Youth group passes vote of confidence on Yahaya, endorses Dattuwa for Reps
Coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) youth group in Akko Local Government Council have passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state to re-contest 2023 General Elections.
Mr Khalid Ahmed, Chairman of the Coalition stated this during a press briefing in Gombe on Monday.
The group commended Yahaya for his administration’s giant strides, particularly the reconstruction of General Hospital Kumo in Akko, and the construction of College of Nursing in Gona District among other projects.
“With these, we are passing a vote of confidence on the governor and equally demand that he should heed to our call to contest for second term,” it said.
The group also called on Malam Dattuwa Ali, Special Adviser to Yahaya on House of Assembly matters to contest for the seat of House of Representatives, Akko Federal constituency.
According to them, the decision to call on Ali to contest was informed by his empowerment programmes for women and youths of Akko descent.
Ahmed said Dattuwa Ali was carefully selected from the numerous options available in their constituents.
He said “we sneaked through the credentials of stakeholders in our party in Akko Local Government who are by law, legitimate to vie for any political office.
“Among all of them, we found that the only person who possessed the unique qualities a representative our constituency in the national assembly ought to have, and who by all definition of standard is equal to the task of representing us, is no other than Dattuwa Ali.”
