25-year-old man remanded for stealing gold chain
Tuesday, a Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court in Abuja issued a remand order for 25-year-old Abubakar Zilkifilu for allegedly stealing a gold chain worth N24,500.
Zilkifilu, of Arab Road, Kubwa Abuja, behind the Fadama Hotel, was accused of criminal force, assault, and theft by the police.

The defendant must remain in Suleja Correctional Center until February 14 when the case’s facts will be reviewed, according to the judge, Mr. Saminu Suleiman.
Earlier, the complainant, Martha Evans of Kubwa Abuja, reported the case to the Byazhin Police Station on January 24, according to the prosecutor, Mr. Chinedu Ogada.
Ogada testified in court that the defendant approached the complainant on the same date and unprovoked attacked her with a stone.
According to him, the defendant took the complainant’s gold chain, worth N24,500, cell phone, worth N65,00, power bill, worth N13,00, and cash, worth N40,000, and fled.
The defendant, according to him, was later detained and given to the police for further investigation.
According to the prosecutor, the crime violated Sections 265 and 287 of the Penal Code.
