Adamawa assembly trains 58 staff on legislative processes
The Adamawa State House of Assembly (ADHA), has begun a three-day training workshop for 58 senior staff of the assembly on nuances and rudiments of legislative processes.
Alhaji Aminu Iya-Abbas (PDP), the speaker of the house who declared the workshop open in Yola on Wednesday, said the training is expected to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

He said the participants would also be exposed to administrative processes, especially on the guiding and operational principles of the civil service, as well as prepare them for life after retirement from service.
According to him, 151 junior staff of the Assembly had received similar training on conflict resolution issues, saying “we would continue to enact laws that would defend and protect the welfare of the citizens, especially the civil servants.”
He described civil/public service as the bedrock of the development of society and an engine room and machinery for carrying out the business of governance and policy-making and implementation.
He called on the participants to concentrate on the training by paying rapt attention to the resource persons to enable them to benefit from the lofty objectives of the programme which has long-term benefits.
Mrs. Bwallami Yuri, a participant from the catering unit of the Assembly, described the training as desirous and timely while commending the leadership of the Assembly for the initiative.
She said the participants would make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the training in improving their performance and in preparing for life after retirement from service.
The NAN reports that the training was organized in collaboration with the International Institute for Leadership and Governance.
