Air Chief Orders Component Commanders to Intensify Attacks on Terrorists, Oil Thieves
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has directed Air Component Commanders to escalate their efforts in ongoing operations across the country.
During a virtual meeting with the Commanders, the CAS commended their outstanding performance, highlighting their critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the nation. He noted that their dedication and tactical efforts have led to a series of successful missions, including the elimination of key terrorist leaders, disruption of oil thieves and pipeline vandals, and safeguarding of key national assets.
However, the CAS emphasized that the challenges are far from over and urged the Commanders to maintain the momentum, leveraging intelligence gathering, precision strikes, and collaborative efforts with sister services to neutralize remaining threats.
The Nigerian Air Force has recently recorded significant successes in various theaters of operations, including air strikes targeting terrorists in Zamfara, Katsina, and Kaduna, as well as operations against oil thieves in Rivers and Imo States.
In a statement, Director of Public Relations and Information Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said, the Force remains committed to allocating resources to restore peace across Nigeria, ensuring citizens can pursue their lawful activities without fear.
The CAS also reassured the Commanders that the NAF leadership remains fully committed to their welfare and the provision of needed resources and equipment to enhance operational capabilities. He expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on their mandate, stressing that the nation’s security and peace are paramount.
