Another Fire outbreak guts popular Gamboru Market in Maiduguri

A fire outbreak has gutted the famous Gamboru Market in Maidugiri on Sunday morning.
The cause of the fire outbreak is yet unknown but vigilante groups including the CJTF and residents were seen making frantic efforts to put off the infeno.

The fire incident is coming barely 9 months after the famous Maidugiri Monday Market was razed by fire, destroying shops and goods worth billions of naira.
CJTF sources, who spoke to our correspondent close to the scene of the inferno at Budum said:
“We are yet to know the cause of the fire outbreak. And you know the market is full of shops and stores with cartons, leather and nylon or rubber materials.”
“The fear is that the fire may go far and reach other places within the market if the fire service fighters are not be mobilized to arrive on time as the fire is too much for us to put it off with water or sand.
“You can see residents and passers by all are stranded and just watching the fire
“Also, nobody can stop the youths from vandalization. There is the possibility of such act but you can see we are stopping children and even the youths from going near the market to loots people’s shops
As at the time (8:45AM) of filing in this report, the fire fighters and their vehicles were yet to arrive the scene of the inferno.
