APC has performed creditably In Gombe – Governor Yahaya
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said Gombe State remains a stronghold of the All Progressive Party (APC), with increasing numerical strength and remarkable performance of its administration.
He emphasized the unity of the party in the state and enjoined members to guard against political jobbers and distractors who are determined to cause disaffection.
Governor Yahaya disclosed this at the distribution of empowerment items facilited by member representing Gombe South in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mustapha Usman Hassan at the APC square.
The Governor praised Hon. Mustapha Hassan for empowering the people, which is in line with the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) manifesto of meeting the social and economic needs and aspirations of the people. He said the true essence of leadership is for leaders to cultivate the habit of empowering the people to improve their livelihood.

A jubilant Governor Yahaya pledged his administration will continue to accord priority to policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the life of the common man. He urged elected officials and political appointees to also strive in impacting on the lives of the electorate in whatever way they can. The Governor told beneficiaries of this and other empowerment programmes in the State to utilize the items given to them for their social and economic emancipation.
In his remarks at the occasion, Speaker, Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, congratulated Hon. Mustapha Hassan for initiating the scheme which will go a long way to changing the social and economic status of the people. He said the empowerment scheme would complement Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s effort towards putting the State on the pedestal of sustainable development.
The Speaker, who was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Siddi Buba, observed that the state under Governor Inuwa Yahaya, has witnessed social, economic and infrastructural development with direct links to the yearnings and aspirations of the common man.
The Commissioner of Finance, Mallam Muhammad Gambo Magaji, represent the Executive Council members at the ceremony. He said the guidance of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya motivate political office holders in the State to cultivate the habit of constantly empowering and changing the lots of the people they represent.
Speaking in the same direction, the Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council, represented by the Deputy Chairman of APC, Sani Ya’u, said the performance of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in all spheres of human endeavours is propping up the sleeping latent of politicians in the State to live above board.
The District head of Doma, Alhaji Abdullahi Doma expressed gratitude to Hon. Mustapha Hassan for initiating the empowerment programme which he described as one of its kind. He also thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for executing projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of his domain.
He equally praised his administration’s efforts at maintaining peace in the State.
Hon. Mustapha Hassan, who initiated the scheme thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for showing leadership which is robbing off on politicians in the state to contribute their qouta to the growth and development of their various communities and humanity in general.
He explained that the programme is aimed at alleviating poverty and improving the well-being of his constituents in support of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s effort in that direction. Items distributed at the ceremony included 8 cars, 25 motorcycles, 45 sewing machines, cash among others.
Governor Yahaya said the time has come for the APC in the State to flaut its life changing interventions for every one to see.
He called on the people of the State not to hesitate in returning the favour by staying true to the leadership qualities of Hon. Mustapha Hassan.
The Governor used the occasion to appeal to citizens of the State who are yet to obtain the Permanent Voters Card, (PVC) to do so while the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration lasted.
He said the continuous voter registration offers the opportunity for renewal for those whose voters card are missing or wear beyond recognition.
