Army kills four Boko Haram terrorists, destroys six camps in Borno

Troops of 195 Battalion, Sector 1 of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in collaboration with Civilian JTF; have killed four Boko Haram terrorists in the Mafa general area of Borno state.
The ground troops on December 5, 2023, also destroyed six new terrorists’ camps in the Mafa-Dikwa axis in the Lake Chad Basin.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed, on Sunday, in Maiduguri that; “The troops acted on credible intelligence to storm the six hideout camps in the Karkut and Koshobe Communities.

A military source in Maiduguri, also said that the two Communities in the Basin, are yet to be liberated for IDPs to be returned by the State government.
According to Makama, the troops came in contact with the terrorists at Karkut while they were on clearance operations in Kezemari and Ladinbuta.
On how they were killed, he said: “The soldiers of the battalion in conjunction with Civilian JTF engaged the terrorists in a gun duel,” noting that; because of the superior fire power, the troops inflicted casualties on terrorists, while others withdrew in disarray towards Lake Chad region.
He said the destroyed camps also contained Grenades, handsets and other weapons used to attack military posts.
Besides, he added that after the clearance operations, the troops combed the entire areas along with the destruction of camps.
