Army kills six ISWAP terrorists in Borno state

Troops of the152 Battalion, Banki, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed six Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Kumshe-Banki axis of Borno state.
The neutralization of terrorists last Sunday followed an ambush staged by the troops along the 54-kilometre border road to Cameroon.
A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri that; “Intelligence reports indicated that dozens of terrorists that usually attack and rob motorists and commuter were sighted in the axis.”

He stated that troops’ patrol operations, however, paid off by killing half a dozen terrorists, while others escaped with gunshot wounds into the Gulumba Forest.
Also, troops of the Nigerian Army, OPHK repelled terrorists attack the Charly Papa I military post, Mafa along the Maidugiri-Dikwa road.
According to Makama, the troops thwarted last Sunday’s attack on the country home of Governor Babagana Zulum to protect Mafa community from incursion.
He noted that despite the fierce gun battle with insurgents in gun trucks and motorcycles, they were forced to retreat and abandoned their evil mission on the community.
“They attempted to attack us through Charly Papa I,” he said, adding that the troops were able to protect the community without any casualty.
