Army loses a personnel in protecting Borno border communities

Troops of 21 Armoured Brigade, Bama, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have repelled an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ attack on the border township in Borno state.
The troops, however, engaged the insurgents at the perimeter fence of the Bama Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, disclosed, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri that the terrorists burst into the border town from the Sambisa axis through Yarmari Gana at 2:00 am of yesterday (Monday, April 24, 2023) to cause havoc on the IDPS, comprising women and children.

He said the troops of the 21 Armoured Brigade and 199 Special Forces Battalion in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) between April 17 and 20, 2023 neutralised 35 terrorists and captured their commander, Alhaji Ba’ana alive
They also destroyed 12 camps of the Boko Haram terrorists in Bama local council of the state
Similarly, the ISWAP terrorists also carried out another attack on Pulka, a border community in Gwoza local council.
A military source in Maiduguri, also stated that; while the terrorists were being repelled, a soldier was killed to pay the supreme price of protecting the two border communities with Cameroon.
