Army neutralises 10 ISWAP terrorists in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in collaboration with the Sector 4, Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have killed 10 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the axis of Arege in Abadam local council, Borno state.
The insurgents, were neutralized, after the ground troops thwarted an attack using the Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) on May 10, 2023.

A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed, yesterday (Friday), in Maiduguri that the terrorists made an audacious attempt to infiltrate the advancing ground troops with vehicle-borne explosives.
According to him, the terrorists encountered a fierce resistance, unleashing heavy gun battle for over an hour.
He added that the ground troops with support from the Air Task Force (ATF) killed more terrorists, while others fled in disarray with gunshot wounds.
“Two of the terrorists’ vehicles were also destroyed by the gallant troops,” he said.
