AU Youth Envoy Enhances Governance in Africa Through Data and Technology

Through the inspirational leadership of The African Union Youth Envoy, Ms. Chido Mpemba, the office of the AU Youth Envoy in partnership with Data for Governance Alliance(one of the most innovative data organizations in Africa) is inviting young people across Africa and in the diaspora to an all-important webinar with the theme: “Building a Stronger Democracy: Youth Technology and Political Engagement in Africa”
The initiative seeks to engage civil society organizations in collaborative efforts towards youth participation, engagement and leadership, and to advocate for the implementation of progressive policies that leave no youth behind. Through this interface, The African Union Office of the Youth Envoy and the Data for Governance Alliance seek to ensure that youth are included in all spheres of decision-making and are actively involved in Africa’s development.

will focus on three specific objectives:
1. Enhancing youth knowledge of the work of the African Union Office of the Youth Envoy and its mandate, and to foster a closer collaboration between the Office of the Youth Envoy and African youth.
2. Using Afrobarometer data to elaborate on youth involvement in digitization and the need to shape the use of the digitized tools for progressive and developmental issues.
3. Increasing interest, knowledge and awareness of youth political participation needs amongst the youth, civil society and leaders with the mandate.
