The Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) has bade farewell to four military personnel and five Corps members, marking the culmination of their respective tenures.
The ceremony held on January 29, 2024, at the College Lounge AWCN Asokoro Abuja, was graced by faculty members and served as a heartfelt testament to the remarkable contributions made by these individuals during their service at the esteemed institution.
Representing the Commandant AWCN, Major General Ishaya Buba Maina, the Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies, Brigadier General Aminu Umar, expressed profound gratitude for the commitment and dedication exhibited by the departing officers and Corps members. General Umar underscored the invaluable contributions of the nine individuals, recognizing their role in advancing the institution’s mission statement. He urged the departing staff to embody the values instilled at AWCN and emphasized the importance of carrying forward the knowledge, skills, and ethos acquired during their tenure to make positive impacts in their future endeavours.
Brigadier General Ahmed Getso, in his opening remarks, conveyed deep appreciation for the exceptional commitment and service demonstrated by the departing staff during their time at AWCN. He commended their steadfast dedication, highlighting the significant role they played in the institution’s success.
Speaking on behalf of the departing Corps members, Miss Eneji Hadiza Oyiza, expressed deep gratitude for the enriching experiences and professional growth gained during their time at the College. She pledged to uphold the values instilled in them and to continue making meaningful contributions in their future endeavours.
The ceremony honoured the service of Brigadier General RO Agbi, MWO Olaosebikan Olayemi, Cpl Linda Oguma, and Cpl Bamidele Seun, along with five Corps members – Eneji Hadiza Oyiza, Fasasi Yewande Khadijah, Theman Esther, Josakweker Ogochukwu Cleopatra, and Abigal Pretty Ibrahim. Their dedicated contributions were celebrated for enhancing the institution’s mission.
Highlight of the event was the symbolic presentation of farewell gifts to each departing staff member, reflecting the institution’s deep appreciation for their service and commitment.
