Bauchi APC protesters storm national secretariat
Members of the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, held a protest rally at the main entrance of the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, to seek the intervention of the party’s National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, in the crisis rocking the party in the state.
They warned that the party stood the risk of losing the state again in 2023 should it insist on foisting an unpopular person as the state chairman.

The protesters who were in their dozens challenged the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu to come clean on allegations of complicity in the crisis.
According to the spokesman for the protesting party members, Maigari Ishaku, who addressed newsmen during the event, said, “We are praying His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni to come and intervene because Mai Mala Buni stood for honesty, his legacy cannot be defeated and his legacy cannot be undermined.
“Two, not only Mai Mala Buni, we know there are APC stakeholders; they are there but because of one thing or the other, they don’t want to come out and say one or two things. Please let them come out from their shells.
“What we want the caretaker committee to do is to help us and install the elected person; the person that won the election is Alhaji Sanusi Aliyu Kunde.”
The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress has given stakeholders in the Oyo state chapter one week within which to agree on the way forward in resolving issues arising from last state congresses.
This was sequel to a meeting presided over by the National Secretary of the party, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, on behalf of the National Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, at the party headquarters, in Abuja, on Thursday.
The Oyo state chapter of the party has been enmeshed in a crisis of confidence over allegations of malpractices levelled against members of the congress committee sent to the state from Abuja.
After the well-attended meeting, Akpanudoedehe said, “The Oyo State APC stakeholders were directed to go back and collectively agree on modalities for the date congresses and report back to the Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee within one week for the CECPCs consideration and decision which will be in the overall interest of the party and the state.”

He said, “It (congress) is cancelled already. But let me also say this: if we tell you that all of these gladiators and juggernauts in politics from the same Oyo state are saying one thing, no party dares say they want to go ahead.
“Of course, they won’t unless they are prepared to just throw away Oyo state like we did in 2019.”
