Bauchi ATAP board member resigns amid leadership changes

The Board Member of the Governing Council of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) Bauchi, Jibrin S. Jibrin, Esq., has resigned from his position as a member of the council with immediate effect.
Jibrin stated this at a news conference on Saturday, saying he has since submitted a resignation letter to Governor Bala Mohammed.
He said the letter dated February 19, 2025, Jibrin conveyed his decision, describing it as a result of “deep reflection, consultation, and conscience searching.”
“Following the recent leadership changes at the institution, the state government recently announced the swapping of the Governing Council’s Chairmanship, with the late Sen. Lawal Yahaya Gumau replacing Dr. Abubakar Sirinbai Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
Jibrin expressed his dismay at the swapping of the leadership of the council of the Ininstitution. a member of the council, I should be consulted for any changes in the leadership.
“Things are not done this way; that shows you wake one day to see on pages of papers you are also replaced or whatever,” he said.
“Expressing gratitude to the Bauchi State Governor for the opportunity to serve,” he said.
Jibrin emphasised his commitment to the state’s progress and the importance of accountability for those in public service.
He also urged leaders to always encourage a reward system for those that committed and supported and suffered with them during electioneering campaigns.
He, however, offered prayers for the continued success of ATAP, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.
