Bauchi REC,resumes duty, warns against collection of PVCs by proxy

The new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) deployed to Bauchi state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Alhaji Mohammmed Nura has resumed duty in the State.
Nura, while briefing Newsmen on Thursday in Bauchi, warned against collection of Permanent Voters Cards PVCs by proxy.
He said the commission would commence the display of Primiliminary Registers of Voters (PRVs) and collection of PVCs across the 20 local government areas.
“The display exercise would commence from Saturday 12th to Friday 18th November 2022 as scheduled by the commission.
“With the display of the PRVs at all the 5, 423 polling units across the state.

“While claims and objections will take place simultaneously at all the 212 registration areas (RAs) wards within the period of the display from 9 : 00 am to 3:00 pm daily,” He said
He added that requests and complaints would be received during the period of display and would be attended to between Saturday 19th and Friday 25th November 2022 across the state.
According to him,the display will also afford all registered voters from 2011 to 2022 the opportunity to check their status to enable them exercise their franchise during 2023 general elections and subsequent elections.
He however, called on registered voters to use the opportunity of the display to come out and check their details and make claims or raise objections where necessary.
