Bauchi traffic agency to recruit 250 wardens – Official
The Bauchi State Road Traffic Agency (BAROTA) has begun the recruitment process of 250 traffic wardens and officers to enhance safer roads in the state.
BAROTA’s Spokesman, Malam Dahiru Adamu, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Bauchi.
He said the agency had inaugurated a recruitment portal to enable interested applicants to apply, adding that the agency had so far received hundreds of applications.
Dahiru said the agency would recruit 200 school leavers, 30 degrees and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders, and 20 holders of the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) and National Diploma (ND).
“Our recruitment will be based on merit as standards will not be compromised,” he said.
According to him, successful candidates will be subjected to medical and character assessments to determine their qualifications and suitability for the job.
He said the wardens would be engaged in traffic control on roads in urban areas to check indiscriminate violations of traffic rules and other sundry offences.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Bauchi State Government has recently established a traffic control agency to promote good and safer road culture among motorists and commuters. (NAN)
