Boko Haram terrorists attack military base in Borno

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists in five gun trucks attacked a military base at Tamsukawu in Kaga Council of Borno state.
The terrorists burst from south fringe of Sambisa Forest road targeted soldiers at the base, leaving the villagers unhurt, chanting; “God is great” in Arabic to the fleeing residents for safety.

Confirming yesterday’s (Monday) incident in Maiduguri, Commander, Sector 3 of Civilian JTF, Modu Fannami; disclosed that the terrorists disguised in military uniform before attacking the base.
He said that the clash between the terrorists and troops lasted for over an hour, before a fighter jet along with ground troops, were alerted to pursue the
“The few soldiers at the base are currently engaged in a heavy gun battle,” he said, stating that barely an hour after the attack, the terrorists were repelled towards the forest.

Speaking on casualties of attack, he said that the number of soldiers and terrorists killed or injured, are yet to be ascertained on both sides.
Motorists playing the road yesterday, were also asked to stop at Ngamdu, before the Army clears the road by 4pm.
