Bomai empowers Yobe youths with startup grants for MSMEs.
Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has empowered youths with takeoff grants for the establishment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Yobe South senatorial district.
According to him, the disbursed takeoff grants are to reduce poverty and unemployment among the constituents, including widows and other vulnerable groups in the state’s south senatorial district.
Disbursing the grants, yesterday in Potiskum, Yobe State, the Legislative Aide to Sen. Bomai, Abubakar Tamana, stated, “The youth empowerment project involves startup businesses with a sum of N1 million each to some of the enterprising youths in the agriculture, livestock, and commerce sectors of the economy.”
He added that the engagement of youths in the development of these economic sectors is Bomai’s effort to deliver the dividends of democracy in his constituency, comprising Fika, Potiskum, Fune, and Nangere local council areas.
Besides the empowerment of youths on MSMEs, Tamana stated that Bomai, representing Yobe South senatorial district, is committed to the welfare of his constituents by supporting all the councillors with N100,000 each as Ramadan gifts.
“Senator Bomai also distributed many bags of rice and sugar to all the electoral wards in four local council areas,” he said.
Other completed constituency projects included the construction of roads and drainages, solar street lights, water supply, skills acquisition training, and ICT centres.
Tamana, therefore, urged the youths to continue to encourage the senator to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
He noted that the constituency projects have prompted some politicians to call on Senator Bomai to prepare and contest for the Yobe 2027 governorship election.
“We appealed to the senator to contest for the governorship in the 2027 polls,” said Abubakar Baba Dada, an APC stalwart.
