Borno APC sets panel to address aggrieved members over primaries

The Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a reconciliation panel to overcome the grievances of party members during the May primaries for the 2023 general elections.
Inaugurating the committee, yesterday (Friday), in Maiduguri, the APC State Chairman, Ali Dalori tasked the nine-member panel to be fair and just to aggrieved members.
“This is to ensure that the party and its members become stronger ahead of the 2023 polls,” he said.
The committee, according to him, is to submit its report in a month to the ruling party in the state.
Committee Chairman and House of Representatives Chief Whip, Hon. Tahir Monguno while addressing newsmen after the inauguration, pledged to resolve members to do their best and be fair.
Besides, he noted that; “We will do our best to finish the assignment within a month but we can seek an extension if there is a need.”
He also assured that aggrieved members will be allowed to ventilate their grievances.
Monguno stated that the committee would ask in the recommendations that aggrieved members be carried along.
Continuing, he said” “We’ll ensure that those who could not get the party tickets are reunited with the party,” noting that it won’t stop anyone seeking redress if aggrieved members are dissatisfied with reconciliations.
He declared that the panel will ensure that all aggrieved members remain in the party.
He however noted that the panel cannot stop anyone from going to court, as it is a fundamental right of the aggrieved members enshrined in the 1999 Constitution.
The party primaries were held last month in the state to produce candidates for the forthcoming general election.
