Borno Govt Seals N15.9bn another Flyover Deal to Ease Maiduguri Traffic Congestion

The Borno State Government has signed a N15.9 billion flyover bridge with the Eighteenth Engineering Company (EEC) to overcome gridlock of traffic and pedestrians in Maiduguri metropolis, the state capital.
The flyover bridge is sited at the Post Office area, while the other bridge is across the River Ngadda.
Singing the contracts on Thursday in Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Works and Housing, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, on behalf of the state government, said the EEC construction firm won the 15.9 billion flyover bridge contract, and it is to be completed in 10 months.
Besides the flyover construction, Gubio disclosed, “The state government has also awarded a N4.5 billion bridge contract along the Maiduguri-Biu road to Dan Construction and Transportation Services (DCTS), to be completed in four months.
Speaking on the N20.4 billion flyover and road bridges, the commissioner stated, “The flyover bridge will have a width of nine feet, while the road bridge across the River Ngadda is completed with a width of six feet.
He noted that the construction firms won the state government contracts based on their competence in the bidding process to win and execute the road and bridge projects.
The commissioner, therefore, charged the contractors to complete the two projects according to the terms of contracts, including project specifications that aligned with global standards.
