Borno Govt. trains 200 teachers in digital skills
Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), an education support has begun training of 200 teachers in digital skills to reinvigorate education sector in Borno.
AGILE is a five-year project initiated by the Federal Government with support of World Bank aimed at improving secondary education and empowerment opportunities for adolescent girls.
The project is being implemented in Borno, Ekiti, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi and Plateau.
The Project Coordinator, Ibrahim Baba said this at the inauguration of the exercise on Thursday in Maiduguri.
Represented Ali-Bukar Dogo, Component 3 Lead, Baba said the training was designed towards providing functional education through digital and vocational skills to the beneficiaries.
He said the programme was also inline with Gov. Babagana Zulum’s educational transformation programme geared toward improving the quality of teachers to enable them to impact relevant knowledge in their students.

He urged the participants to pay attention to all sessions of the training for maximum benefit.
Also speaking, Yakaru Mustapha, the Component Lead, Digital and Life Skills, said the teachers were drawn from 100 schools across the 27 local government areas of the state.
Mustapha said the exercise would exposed the participants to digital skills to enable them fo discharge their duties effectively.
