Borno, police activate intelligence gathering centre to fight terrorism, others

The Borno state government, in collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has established an intelligence gathering centre (IGC) to fight terrorism and other criminal activities.
Unveiling the Joint Operation Cenre on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, disclosed that “This centre is to serve as a communication unit for intelligence sharing among the police and other security agencies in the state.
Tar, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Modu Mustapha, said that the state government has donated solar panels, batteries, equipment, and Walkie Talkies to the police in reactivating the joint operation centre.
While thanking the state government for upgrading the intelligence sharing centre, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Operations, Moses Gana, noted that the sharing of intelligence will track terrorists’ activities for prompt action in protecting people’s lives and property.
