Borno Police Command Elevates 84 Officers, Urges Renewed
Commitment to Public Safety

The Borno Police Command has decorated 84 newly promoted officers to their higher next of ranks in the Police Service Commission (PSC).
According to the Command, the promoted officers are to uphold “trust and commitment” by ensuring the protection of people’s lives and property in the state.
Decorating the elevated officers, yesterday (Wednesday), in
Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Yusufu, charged them to serve with renewed vigour to reduce rates of crimes to their barest levels.
While leading by example, he urged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in crime prevention.
The police chief thanked the commission and state command. for finding the promoted officers worthy of their next ranks.
Additionally, he said, “Your faith in our capabilities pushes us to strive for even greater excellence in serving the people by protecting their lives and property.”
He said the promotions reflect not just our efforts in protection of life and property, but the collective strength of the police units, departments, and divisions in the state.
Yusufu, therefore, urged other senior colleagues to mentor, guide, and sometimes love in shaping the promoted officers, stating that, “We carry your teachings in every decision we make at the command.”
He also called on officers and subordinates to support and cooperate in the spirit of teamwork in fighting criminal activities in Borno, including the border communities with Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
