BRAVE-IT Condemns Tragic Loss of Military Personnel in Delta State Clash
The Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism Insurgency and Terrorism (BRAVE-IT) organization has issued a resounding condemnation following the tragic killing of military personnel by armed youths in Delta State.
The incident, which took place in Okuoma Community within the Bomadi local government area of Delta State, saw troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion responding to a distress call amid a communal crisis between Okuoma and Okoloba communities. Tragically, the Commanding Officer, two majors, and 12 other soldiers lost their lives in the harrowing event, highlighting the dangers faced by those in uniform.
BRAVE-IT in a statement issued by its Director of Communication and Strategy Lawrence Audu, expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other Service Chiefs affected by the unfortunate incident. The organization also commended the bravery and professionalism displayed by all serving personnel who risk their lives in the line of duty, emphasizing their patriotic dedication in the face of danger.

The Chief of Defence Staff was lauded for his prompt response in averting a potentially disastrous escalation of the crisis. BRAVE-IT stands firmly in support of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, endorsing any actions taken to seek justice and prevent a recurrence of such tragic events in the future.
Furthermore, BRAVE-IT emphasized the critical role of the military as the nation’s last line of defence and called for unwavering support to protect and uphold their mission of safeguarding the country.
