Buni begs NEDC to rebuild torched Polytechnic, College in Yobe

Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has urged the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to rebuild the destroyed State’s College of Agriculture and Polytechnic in the State.
According to him, the Boko Haram torched institutions of higher learning; are respectively sited in Gujba and Geidam, a border community with Niger.
Buni, represented by his deputy, Idi Gubana, made the call, over on Saturday,
When the Chairman and members of the newly constituted Governing Council of Commission paid a courtesy visit to the governor at Government House, Damaturu.

He lamented the activities of Boko Haram, by torching the College of Agriculture Science and Technology (CAST).
He said that over 100 students were killed, including the destruction of school buildings and utility vehicles of the College, sited along the Damaturu-Gujba road.
While responding, Chairman of the Governing Board of Commission, Maj-Gen. Paul Tarfa (rtd), disclosed: “We’re in the state for a familiarization visit to assess our completed and other ongoing capital projects in the health, education and housing sectors.”
Besides, he added that the assessment visit will enable the commission identify the demands of people in the critical sectors that affected their means of livelihoods and safety in communities.
