Buni mourns Yobe youths, sports commissioner, Lawan

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has mourned the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Goni Bukar Lawan along with top government officials in Damaturu.
The Director General, Press and Media Affairs, Mohammed Mamman yesterday (Wednesday) in Damaturu, stated that Lawan died on Tuesday in an auto crash near Dambam, Bauchi state while travelling to Kano.
While attending the funeral prayers at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre, the Governor, said: “We’re deeply saddened by the demise of the Commissioner,” adding that they have resorted to faith as God’s will.

He, therefore, described the death as a huge loss to Lawan’s family and other dependents.
According to him, Lawan was an active, result-oriented and reliable member of the State Executive Council (SEC).
He said that while the commissioner was at the National Assembly, he protected the interests of his constituents, the State and the country.
Sympathizers also thronged his Government Residential Area (GRA), Damaturu to condole with his family and the Governor.
Buni prayed to God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal paradise, and for the family to bear the fortitude of irreparable loss.
