His words: “It’s important to internalize the values of love and sacrifice as reflected in the teachings of Easter at this period of our national life.”
According to him, the good lessons of love and sacrifice should be employed to promote peace and unity of the various communities in the state and country.
He said that this could also ensure the socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria and its citizens.
“This is a blessed period when the Christian faithful observe Easter, while their Muslim brothers and sisters at the same time observing the Ramadan fast,” he noted.
He said that this is an opportunity for the nation to take advantage of Easter and Ramadan for ceaseless prayers.
He, therefore, called on religious and community leaders to always preach peace for the peaceful coexistence of various communities in the country.
He said that during the 13-year insurgency, the people could not go to either mosques or churches in Yobe and Borno states.
“But today we glorify God for the peace we are now enjoying across the state,” he said, warning that the people should guard it and avoid anything that could jeopardize the peaceful coexistence.
