Buni woos Denmark investors into agric, other sectors of economy

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, has wooed Denmark investors in the agricultural and other sectors of the local economy of State.
According to him, Yobe has comparative advantages in the production of sesame seeds and Gum Arabic for exports at the commodity international market.
The Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mohammed Mamman, in a statement, yesterday (Monday), in Damaturu, disclosed: “The Governor met the Denmark Ambassador, Mr. Sune Krogstrup to discuss areas of collaborations on investments and trade in targeted economic sectors of the state.”

He said that the investments are in the agricultural sector that will boost the production of high grade sesame seeds and Gum Arabic for exports and other industrial uses in Nigeria.
According to the statement, Buni and Krogstrup have already identified areas of common interests and agreed to meet again for further discussions.
Buni explained that their discussions were to exploit more areas of economic benefits to the State and Denmark.
While responding, the Ambassador, therefore, welcomed the economic opportunities that abound in the state.
He assured that Governor that Denmark will develop and market its natural deposits and other agricultural products, including Gam Arabic to earn foreign exchange.
