Buratai, You’ve Imprinted Yourself in Our Hearts Forever – Mai Kaltungo

In a rare display of admiration and gratitude, the Mai of Kaltungo HRH Engineer Saleh Umar, has paid homage to the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai Rtd, CFR.
With heartfelt sincerity, the royal luminary proclaimed that Buratai’s indelible mark on their lives would never be erased. The proclamation took place during the annual Gombe Day of Literature/3rd North East Festival of Literature, Culture, and Creativity.
Mai Kaltungo expressed deep appreciation for Buratai’s invaluable contributions during his tenure as Nigeria’s Army Chief, emphasizing that his dynamic leadership played a pivotal role in the Northeast’s triumph over the Boko Haram terrorists.
“Buratai, we shall forever cherish your memory for the profound impact you had on our region,” declared the Mai Kaltungo.

The event, organized by the renowned non-governmental organization, the Halima Factor Community Initiative, took place at the new multi-purpose hall of Gombe State University.
Spanning from the 12th to the 16th of November 2023, the occasion served as a testament to the region’s rich literary heritage, cultural diversity, and boundless creativity.
Prominent guests who graced the cccasion include, the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manasseh Jatau, the Chairman of the Gombe State Teacher’s Service Commission, Mrs. Nominated Maiguwa, MFR, the revered Mai Kaltungo, HRH Engineer Saleh Umar, the Chiroman Nguru, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa, as well as a distinguished assemblage of senior military and para-military officers.
The event also welcomed representatives from the JNI and CAN, symbolizing the unity of different faiths, alongside members of the erudite academic community.
The event, which commenced on the 12th of November 2023, promised to be a captivating experience that would span five remarkable days, culminating on the 16th of November 2023. Participants from all six states within the North-East region converged to partake in this extraordinary gathering, showcasing the region’s profound cultural diversity and intellectual prowess.
