CAF 2025 Qualifier: Super Eagles Face Rwanda in Uyo, Nov. 18
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has scheduled Nigeria’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda for Nov. 18. This decisive Matchday 6 fixture will be held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
According to a statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, the match will determine Nigeria’s fate in Group D as teams vie for a spot in the 35th AFCON finals, set for December 2025 through January 2026 in Morocco. Kickoff for the game is slated for 5 p.m.
CAF has appointed Moroccan referee Samir Guezzaz to officiate the match, with compatriots Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune assisting on the sidelines, and Kech Chaf Mustapha serving as the fourth official. Prosper Harrison Addo from Ghana will act as the match commissioner, while Somalian Ali Mohamed Ahmed will be the referee assessor.
Ahead of the Rwanda clash, Nigeria will take on Benin Republic on Nov. 14 in Abidjan at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, with the kickoff set for 8 p.m. Nigerian time. Senegalese officials led by referee Issa Sy have been appointed for the Matchday 5 game, joined by assistants Djibril Camara, Nouha Bangoura, and fourth official El Hadji Amadou Sy. Cote d’Ivoire’s Rene Williams Sere will serve as the commissioner, with Angolan Inacio Manuel Candido as the referee assessor.
