Census: NPC Mulls Three-day Nationwide Movement Restriction

The National Population Commission is mulling a three-day movement restriction nationwide for the 2023 census.
The Population Commission had earlier announced that the nationwide census will hold from May 3 to 7, 2023.
The Chairman of the NPC, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, made the revelation during a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja on Thursday.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Kwarra said the decision on the nationwide restriction will only be confirmed after consultations with State Governors.
He also stated that the commission would work with the Minister of Foreign Affairs to determine the best way for the Diplomatic Corps to participate in the exercise.
