Clash of Terrorists: Boko Haram elements flee as ISWAP fighters storm camp in Sambisa
By Zagazola Makama
As the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) seized their stronghold in Gaizuwa, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, the terrorists of Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd (Boko Haram) escaped.
When Ba’ana Chingori led hundreds of ISWAP terrorists in four Hilux vehicles outfitted with Anti Aircraft Guns and motorcycles to attack them in Abu Ikilima’s camp on Sunday, it was reported that the terrified Boko Haram members abandoned their camp.
To exact retribution for the murder of ISWAP’s commander, Malam Aboubakar (Munzir), and 15 other militants who were neutralized in a fatal infighting by ISWAP, enraged Boko Haram fighters killed 33 women on December 3 just over a week ago.

Numerous ISWAP members were killed as a result of the fatal attack, which was led by Ali Ngulde, a notorious JAS commander who is 25 years old, and five Khaids, including Muke from Mandara Mountain, Ali Ghana from Ngauri, Abbah Tukur from Mantari, Maimusari, Abu Isa, and one other (name unknown).
Around 320 battling militants, 250 of them were armed with Ak 47 rifles, as well as a minimum of 8 cars and 50 motorcycles, were present during the combat.
The Boko Haram components fled their camps after learning of the ISWAP’s might, leaving behind women and children, according to Zagazoka Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad who closely observed the fighting.
Addressing the women, Chingori warned his fighters not to touch any women or children, an action that surprised observers who predicted a revenge of the killing of ISWAP wives by Boko Haram.
“We should not attack their women like they did to us, he said. He described the Boko Haram as “cowards” who could not stand the strength of the “Soldiers of Khalifah”.
He vowed that no matter where they run to, they will find them and eliminate all of them.
Meanwhile, Zagazola understands that the leadership of Boko Haram have appealed for reinforcement of JAS fighters from Marte, Krinowa as well as the border of Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic, to enable it defeat ISWAP and reclaim its territories.
The raging deadly clashes between the two rival terror groups which some observers have described as providential is pushing them to the inevitable point of self-destructing.
Both fighters have vowed to ferociously battle each other even more than the Nigerian military.
